Bob Dylan, Tom Waits, Greg Brown, Townes Van Zandt, Leonard Cohen. How can I even think of picking up a pen and paper to the tune of my guitar with the words of these masters ringing in my head?
If you can't beat 'em, join 'em. Teddy Thompson (Richard and Linda's son) does it justice. A certain member of JAMM I think could do it even better.. You know who you are.. And yes, this is a very earnest request...
"I'm Your Man", the new-ish Leonard Cohen documentary is a must watch!

that is such a perfect cover it gave me chills...
the thing about doing someone elses song is you need to somehow feel whatever it was the original was feeling to make it real. I know nothing about that dude but he made me beleive he was right in the song. beautiful voice and subtle band.
my favorite youtube nearly ever.
cohen is one good reason to pick up a pen.
(i am now furiously youtubing that young feller)
"shes a soft naked lady....."
That brings me great joy to hear bro... Almost as much joy to hear as next time we play it together...
In the extra features of the Cohen DVD, they have a straight cut of the 1st rehearsal.. His mum was in tears...
loving the guy 'antony' who does 'if it be your will' ..
followed the related video on youtube and found pure gold from that guy.. particularly enjoyed the letterman spot where letterman, obviously affected, trys to make a wise crack and you can see him regret it instantly.... anyone who can get letterman to think twice is worth a second listen... this antony is obviously a weird dude and an undeniable singular talent.... seems to go hand in hand most of the time.
